Junior Estimator (LE)
Location: Leduc, Alberta
Term of Employment: Permanent, Fulltime
Salary: Commensurate with candidate's skills and experience
Position: Junior Estimator
Reports To: Branch Manager
Position summary
The Junior Lumber Estimator will provide superior customer service through proactive leadership and communication; driving efforts to increase market share while optimizing the utilization of assets and cultivate many opportunities for greater profits.
Responsibilities
- Perform timely and accurate blueprint take-offs using customer supplied blueprints.
- Create accurate bids and materials price lists for sales staff in a timely manner.
- Forecasting and scheduling, ensuring projects and tasks are delivered on time.
- Follow established safety procedures for all assignments.
- Problem solving, strategic planning with the ability to implement solutions.
- Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
- Adhere to ZyTech’s safety, quality assurance and standard operating procedures and policies.
- Other tasks as assigned by your manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of blueprints (architectural, structural, and mechanical).
- Expertise in the rough framing and construction process.
- Knowledge of the building codes, engineering, and structural standards.
- Knowledge of computer software i.e. MS Office, BisTrack, PlanSwift.
Education: Residential construction and estimating experience and/or Technical School Diploma would be an asset for this position, but are not mandatory.
